Good morning everyone. I hope you all are having a great day. I know that my column so far has talked a lot about writing, but I’d also like it to show some of the other things I like to do. One of my favorite things is taking a drive with my wife. We usually load up with no destination in mind. My wife likes to take photos, so we will try to drive to areas that have a lot of beautiful scenery. As she is the one taking the photos, I am usually the one driving. Sometimes, I stumble upon something that really inspires her. Other times I am not so lucky. But I love the adventure of it all, and that is what keeps me coming back.
If I had to pick a favorite place to drive to, it would probably be Cave Point in Door County, Wisconsin. It’s just a little bit further of a drive than Sturgeon Bay. The drive into the county park is outstanding, as the trees are beautiful any time of year, but especially in fall. But the drive in has nothing on the actual park itself. Cave Point is home to a stretch of beach that overlooks Lake Michigan. My wife loves to get photos of that coastline, but I like it best when it is really windy. The waves crashing against the beach boom with such authority that you wonder how anything could stand against it. Seeing it makes you appreciate how erosion works, and it makes you happy to spend some time in nature. I love Cave Point at any time of the year, and that is why I never hesitate when my wife suggests it for our drive. If you get a chance, you should check it out. You will not regret it.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed finding out a little bit about me. I’ll talk to you next week. Until then, keep reading and keep enjoying yourselves.
