The Book That Hooked Me

Happy Saturday everyone. I hope this past week has been good for you all. Today, I want to talk about one of my favorite hobbies. I’m talking about reading, and more specifically, finding my favorite author.

Now I know Stephen King is probably a lot of people’s favorite author. But the first book I ever read by him is probably not one of his best known. I found it in an English class my freshmen year of high school. It was called the Eyes of the Dragon, and it was the book he published following IT. It’s a fairytale, telling the story of two brothers and their quest to overcome the treachery of an evil being. That evil being is in other King books, as many of his characters often connect, and it’s an epic buildup to a satisfying conclusion in my opinion.

If you asked me, I couldn’t tell you what hooked me the most. The story. The characters. The details. It was a perfect blend of things, and it started me on my current path. That book made me want to write a book of my own, and I was able to do that several years later. I suggest you check this book out if you get a chance. It’s definitely worth it. I’ve read a lot of Stephen King’s books, and although the first one wasn’t my favorite, it still holds a special place in my heart and always will. I love the magic of reading, as it can take you far away with just the turn of a page. I hope you all find a book that can do the same for you.

Well, I suppose I’ve talked your ear off long enough. I hope the next week ahead of you is better than the last. Talk to you all next week, and keep reading.
