I couldn't believe it as I read the article. After the first Coronavirus related death in the US was announced, brothers Noah and Matt Colvin tried to capitalize on the situation. This type of behavior makes me absolutely sick. People are hysterical to the point where they start panic buying, and these two assholes are trying to turn a profit. As I kept reading, these brothers tried defending their actions by claiming they were doing specific communities a service. They said they were supplying them with a product they don't usually have access to. Even after getting busted they continued trying to defend their actions by claiming this sort of thing happens in business. These two are exactly what is wrong with America. A crisis hits, and they only think of themselves. This is not a time to profit. A lot of people don't know how they will pay bills through this, and these assholes are making it worse. I've heard that they've since donated the sanitizer they couldn't sell. Good! It serves them right. I hope they are never allowed to sell on Amazon after this. They violated moral and business ethics with these actions.
My hope is that American citizens are supporting each other through this. Don’t hoard all the supplies. Make sure your elderly neighbors have what they need. Make sure the family that can’t pay the mortgage is doing ok. Make sure your parents are well. And try to follow what your local authorities are telling you, even if you profoundly disagree. Look around. The sports have been canceled, and many workplaces are shut down. You may not think this is a big deal, but the world does. I’d like to pile on the Colvin brothers a bit more, but it’s not the time for that. It’s time to put politics aside and stand next to each other as Americans. I pray that we get past this as quickly as possible.
