Jorge Masvidal’s loss at UFC 251 this past weekend wasn’t his fault. It all started with a five-second KO of Ben Askren. It’s a Most Unstoppable Force

Of course, one could say Askren himself is a victim of this curse. His entire UFC run was corrupted by my fandom, resulting in devastating consequences to his career. A career that was untarnished until I started rooting for him.

Could it be that Askren passed the Kurse to Masvidal? That’s a distinct possibility. With the victory over Askren, I had to cheer for Jorge to win the BMF Title. I couldn’t help myself. It’s not just the loss itself, but the Kurse is to blame for all of the circumstances leading up to UFC 251. The contract dispute that nearly cost us the title fight we all wanted. The short notice acceptance of the previously mentioned title fight. The slight falling out with Dana White, even though Dana would deny it. Kaster’s Kurse is to blame for all of it. It doesn’t matter who I cheer for; the Kurse will ultimately bite them in the ass.

Ben Askren was 18-0 as he entered the UFC. Sure, I knew who he was. But I didn’t take notice of his career until he joined the UFC’s roster. I’ve always been a fan of Anthony Pettis, so I was anxious to see what Showtime’s wrestling coach could do against the world’s top welterweights. The results: A controversial victory over Robbie Lawler followed by the fastest KO in UFC history. Then, he lost a tough matchup against Demian Maia, and now his fighting career is over as he awaits hip surgery. Damn this Kurse.

Jorge Masvidal was right to fight for more money. It could be his last big payday. This Kurse has ruined many a career, and Masvidal is it’s the latest victim. I can only hope that Jorge can overcome the devastating consequences of my fandom. But I’m not holding onto much hope for that. Kaste’s Kurse has destroyed tons of sports careers. Anthony Pettis, Conor McGregor, Rampage Jackson, this list goes on and on.

I’m also blaming the Kurse for Usman’s title run. Kamaru is a talented fighter and one tough sob, but it’s hard to watch his boring ass fights. His strategy was to centrally focus on Jorge’s crotch as he took the BMF Champion down while dry humping him the entire time. Wrestling is one of those things that’s easy to hate -Especially when the fighter you’re cheering against implements it as his primary strategy. Usman is in the midst of one of the most impressive win streaks in the UFC’s Welterweight division. The Kurse is undoubtedly at work here. I wanted T-Wood to smatch Kamaru, but Usman dominated the fight to claim the belt. I wanted Covington to take the belt, but Usman reigned supreme over Chaos.
Damn this Kurse. It can’t be stopped! It ruins the careers of the fighters I love while rewarding the ones I can’t stand. I’m sorry to all the Masvidal fans. Please don’t assume that it’s my fault, blame this dastardly KURSE.
