Hello everyone and welcome to the Pack Pick. Today we will preview the upcoming game between Green Bay and Minnesota. While this doesn’t have quite the juice of previous years, it’s still a rivalry game for the Pack and that makes it important.
Green Bay got back on a winning track last week. They were able to defeat the Texans with relative ease, as Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams showed up following a dismal performance the week before. The defense showed some glimmers of hope, getting some nice stops and controlling the game. All in all, it was a decent win.
Minnesota, on the other hand, is a train wreck. I expected the Vikings to take a step back while reshaping their defense, but I didn’t expect the offense to be this inconsistent. They seem to have the pieces to be good, from an electric rookie receiver to a dynamic running back, but something isn’t clicking. Unless they figured that out on the bye week, it’ll be more of the same the rest of the year.
Which brings me to my pick. By now, teams know what they have to do to beat Matt LaFleur’s team. They have to punch Green Bay in the mouth. They have to bully them in the trenches. They need to make Aaron Rodgers doubt what the offense is doing. Minnesota had that ability in year’s past, but they don’t right now. I expect the Packers to take this one with relative ease and get to 6-1.
THE PICK: Green Bay 45, Minnesota 20
